Hi, I’m ruby guenther.
A home-birthing mother of two. An artist. Herbalist. Waldorf Maker. Birth + Postpartum Educator. A homebirth doula. Midwife assistant. A Wholistic + Naturopathic Health Specialist.
I grew up in a mountain town called Hood River, Oregon — surrounded by wild rivers, good food, and a deep reverence for nature. Raised in a community that honored the earth and lived close to it, I was naturally drawn to a more ancestral, holistic way of being.
After the transformative experience of birthing my first son in a birth center, I felt a powerful calling. I left behind my career as a professional dancer and followed the rhythm of birthwork, becoming a certified doula through Bebo Mia. I served families throughout the Columbia River Gorge and Portland, holding space for them in those raw and sacred moments.
When my second son was born gently at home, my heart cracked open even wider — and I began walking the path of homebirth midwifery. What began as support work grew into a deep-rooted passion. In 2022, our little family of four followed the sun to Tampa, Florida where we now live a jungle-infused life full of everything that makes our hearts happy.
I’m now a student midwife, learning hands-on under trained midwives and wise women in the community. My practice weaves together traditional birthwork, holistic herbal care, and ancient postpartum healing. I specialize in honoring the full cycle of birth through offerings like lotus birth, belly binding, herbal steams, and nourishing meals for new mothers.
I don’t call myself a birthkeeper lightly — this work is sacred. I believe in birth as ceremony, in the wisdom of the body, and in reclaiming the ways our great-grandmothers once served women.
